1. How do I find out my ring size?

The most reliable way is to visit us in Ostroměř. We will measure your fingers, show you our work, and you can try everything on. Please make an appointment in advance.

What we definitely do not recommend is measuring your finger with string, a strip of paper, a tailor's tape measure, or other home methods. These methods are inaccurate and often lead to mistakes.

If you live far away, you can visit your nearest jewelry store. However, it is important that the measuring gauges should be similar in width to your future ring – a narrow ring fits differently on your finger than a wide band. The shape of the inner profile (straight × rounded) also makes a difference.
Keep in mind that regular jewelers often do not have such a wide range of measuring ring gauges and will likely charge a fee for this measurement.

If you don't want to go to a jeweler, you can order our measuring ring sizers, see the next question.

📖 For more information, see our article How to measure your ring size

2. Do you offer ring sizers?

Yes. If you are unsure of your size, we will be happy to provide you with a trial ring sizer setWe have them in various widths, with both standard straight and rounded comfort fit inner side. Choose the width you plan to have on your future ring.

For rings with stones or rings combining multiple materials, we recommend verifying the size also with our metal gauges, which are even more accurate. For atypical shapes (e.g., Forever or Siona models), we also offer special atypical metal gauges.

How does it work?

  • You order the appropriate gauges, select the shipping method, and make the payment.
  • We will send the gauges to your home.
  • After trying them on, send them back to us (except for atypical ring sizers which you keep; these are not returnable).
  • For standard ring sizers, we will deduct their price (excluding shipping) from your ring order or refund it to your account.
  • Unfortunately, with regard to customs clearance, returns of gauges are only possible for customers from the European Union!

📖 You can read more in our article How to measure your ring size using a measuring ring set.

3. Standard fit or comfort fit ring?

Unfortunately, there is no simple answer – it depends on the shape of your fingers and the width of the ring.
In general, comfort fit (rounded inside) is recommended mainly for wider rings, as they "breathe" better and the skin under the ring sweats less.

But everyone is different, so it's best to try it on for yourself. If you can't come to our store, use our ring sizers.

How to do it:

  • Try two rings of the same size – one with a standard flat inside and one with a comfort fit.

  • The one with the comfrort fit will usually feel a little looser.

Therefore, we recommend ordering both types of measuring rings of the same width and choosing the one that feels more comfortable for you.

4. How to measure correctly with our ring sizers?

For more comfortable testing, you can remove the gauge from the cable – just put it back in the same order of numbers.

The correct size is when:

  • You can put the gauge on without much effort.
  • When removing it, gently "wiggle" it, but it should not slide off completely easily.
  • It should not be painful, but it should not be too loose either.

Tips for more accurate measurements:

  • Try the gauge at different times of the day – your fingers may be more swollen in the morning than in the evening.
  • Test for several days in a row, as weather and temperature can also affect how the gauge fits.

5. How to return borrowed ring sizers?

Unfortunately, due to customs clearance, the following instructions regarding the return of ring sizers apply only to customers from the European Union. We apologize, but customers outside the European Union cannot return purchased ring sizers and must keep them. Thank you for your understanding.

Instructions for customers living in the European Union: Pack the gauges in an envelope and include your order number and email address. If possible, send them insured to the following address:

Kredum Art – Jan Král
T. G. Masaryka 318
Ostroměř 507 52
Czech Republic

Please do not send packages cash on delivery! We do not accept such shipments. Thank you for your understanding.

Once they arrive, we will let you know that they are back safely.
We will deduct the amount paid for the ring sizers (excluding postage) from your ring order or send it to your bank account.

However, this only applies to standard ring sizers. Due to their shape, atypical ring sizers are non-returnable!!!

6. How to order from us?

There are several options available, so there is a choice for everyone:

Easily via the e-shop

Go to www.kredum.com, select the product, add it to your cart, choose shipping and payment option, and complete the order.

  • Rings: For each ring, you will find a drop-down list of parameters that need to be specified – size, width, and thickness (if there is only one option, it is determined by the type of ring). Sometimes it is also necessary to specify the profile or surface finish – please write this information in the order notes. The notes field is either directly next to the product or (for most products) at the end of the order. The required parameters are listed separately for each ring.
  • Other jewellery – if you need to specify anything (e.g., desired size, surface finish, etc.), please also write this in the notes section in your order.

If something is missing in your order, we will contact you to clarify the details.

7. Can´t find the ring you want in our e-shop?

Write to us at obchod@kredum.cz and we will advise you where to find it, or we will prepare a reserved link for you to order it. This also applies to atypical rings and custom-made jewelry that we do not usually have in our offer.

8. You offer a ring in size 59, but I need a larger/smaller one.

Yes. First, try entering the name of the ring into the search engine on our e-shop.
The product should appear with information about when we can produce it.
There, you can simply select the desired size in the order.

Can't find it? Write to us at obchod@kredum.cz and we will advise you where to find it or prepare a reserved link for you to order.

9. I am not sure what thickness or width to choose for the ring.

Ring thickness is usually chosen from three options:

  • thin – up to 1.5 mm
  • medium – 1.5–2 mm
  • thick – over 2 mm

If you are unsure and would like us to make the decision for you, leave the thickness selection field blank.
We most often choose medium thickness because it allows for more possibilities for future enlargement or reduction of the ring.
The exception is gold rings, which are usually made thinner (up to 1.5 mm).
For rings with stones, the thickness is always adjusted to the height of the stone.

📖 For more information, see our article How to choose the thickness of a ring.

The width of a ring typically ranges from 3 to 7 mm, but some designs may be narrower or wider. It can be selected in steps of 0.5 mm. It mainly depends on your personal preference – women often choose 3–5 mm, while men prefer 5–7 mm.

📖 Read more in our article How to choose the width of a ring.

11. Is there a deposit?

13. I want to place an order - where do I write the required parameters?

Please specify all the necessary parameters for the production of a ring or jewel directly in the order in our e-shop – either using the drop-down menu or in the order notes. The notes field is either directly next to the product or (for most products) at the end of the order.
If anything is missing, we will contact you by email and ask you to complete it.

Rings
For each ring, you will find a drop-down list of parameters that need to be specified – size, width and thickness (if there is only one option, it is determined by the type of ring). Sometimes it is necessary to specify the profile or surface finish – please write this informations in the notes.
The required parameters are always listed separately for each ring.

Drop-down lists are not usually available for other jewellery. If you need to specify something (e.g., desired size, finish, etc.), please write it in the note in your order.

14. Do you offer ring engraving?

Yes, we offer three types of engraving:

Computer engraving

  • The price is fixed for engraving up to 15 characters.
  • There are 3 engraving styles to choose from: hatched, outline and simple line.
  • There are 20 fonts available in the product for you to choose from.
  • If you prefer a different font, it must be freely available, or you can send it to us.

Engraving with a template

  • The price is per one character.
  • There are 4 templates available with different fonts and sizes (all listed with the product).
  • If you want to combine upper and lower case letters, ideally choose templates no. 1 and no. 4.

Engraving made by hand

  • The price is per one character.
  • Please specify: cursive/ block letters, upper/lower case.

Engraving is usually done on the inside of the ring, but for some types of rings that have a flat surface or a suitable area, engraving can also be done on the outside.

Besides text and dates, we can also engrave a picture (by computer or by hand), fingerprints, different symbols, and characters. Engraving mountains is really popular, and it can be done in a fine or rough style. We can also engrave a heart or other decorative designs. Hand engraving of a picture is possible based on a template you send us.

If you have a specific request, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

15. What is a lifetime service?

We provide free lifetime service for most of our jewellery made of precious metals, Damascus stainless steel damasteel, titanium and surgical steel. However, there are exceptions where some adjustments cannot be made to a particular piece of jewellery – so always consult us in advance about what you need.

Jewellery covered by free lifetime service is marked directly in the product description.

For jewellery where this service is not listed, it is sometimes possible to arrange for a restoration or other modification – depending on the specific characteristics of the particular piece.

All our jewellery can be cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner.
This process removes dirt from deposits (e.g., dust, flour, grease), leaving your jewellery beautifully clean.
We offer ultrasonic cleaning free of charge, even for jewellery without a lifetime service warranty.

16. How long does production take?

Production usually takes 2-8 weeks depending on the complexity of the ring or jewellery.
You will find the current availability listed in the parameters for each product.

Factors that may extend production time:

  • Wedding season – during peak season, production time may be extended by approximately 1 week.

  • Setting of the stone

    • If you order a separate setting for a stone that is not part of the selected product, production will be extended by approximately 1–2 weeks.

    • If the product already contains a stone (e.g., a ring with a sapphire), the setting time is included in the total production time and is not extended.

  • Engraving

    • Hand engraving: + approx. 2 weeks

    • Computer or template engraving: + approx. 2 working days

Express production
If you need your jewels urgently and our capacity allows it, it is possible to arrange earlier delivery. In such cases, we charge an express surcharge, the amount depends on the reduction in production time. If you are interested in the express production, please contact us in advance.

17. I received my ring, but it doesn't fit. What should I do?

If the ring size does not suit you, please email us at obchod@kredum.cz.

First, we need to know how much bigger or smaller the ring is. We can send you a ring sizer so you can measure your finger accurately. Then, if the design and material of the ring allows, we will resize it for you.

The options for adjustment depend on the specific type of ring and how much the size needs to be changed. Not all types of rings can be resized. Some materials or designs allow only limited changes, or even no changes at all.

📖 For more information about the options and limitations of size adjustments, see our article Lifetime service.

18. A stone fell out of my ring

It is rare for a stone to fall out of a well-set piece of jewelry. However, if this does happen, there is no need to worry – it can always be fixed. It is more common for a stone to break as a result of the ring hitting a hard object, for example at work or if it is dropped.

In this case, please contact us at obchod@kredum.cz.
Then send the ring to our address: Kredum Art – Jan Král, T. G. Masaryka 318, Ostroměř 507 52, Czech Republic. After examining it, we will contact you with a proposed solution.

  • 2-year warranty on stone setting
If the stone falls out within 2 years and there has been no mechanical damage (crash, fall, etc.), we will set a new stone free of charge.
If we find that the stone was lost or broken as a result of a collision with an object, a new stone can be set for a fee.

  • After the warranty expires
If a stone falls out or is broken more than two years after being set, it can of course be reset, but always for a fee.

19. I want something that you don´t have in your offer

Custom-made jewellery is jewellery that you will not find in our regular e-shop offer and which is made according to the customer's specific ideas. If you are interested in such a ring or piece of jewellery, please contact us at obchod@kredum.cz.

To give us a better idea, please send us a photo or sketch and include information about the material, size, and any other required parameters.

Custom production falls into the category of individual creation, and therefore both the price and delivery time may differ from the standard offer. We will inform you about everything in advance.

20. My silver ring has turned black, what should I do?

Silver jewelry is the most difficult to keep clean because it tarnishes over time. This isn't a defect in the jewelry, but a natural property, so it's not a reason to complain.

How to clean your jewels at home:

  • The easiest way is to use baking soda – put a piece of aluminum foil in a plastic bowl, add a tablespoon of baking soda, and pour warm water over it. Immerse the jewel for a few minutes, then rinse it under water and polish it with a soft cloth.
  • We recommend using a special silver polishing cloth.
  • For more intense tarnishing, use a special silver cleaning bath, which you can buy at a drugstore.

Cleaning option at our store:
You can also send your ring to our address in Ostroměř. We will clean it in a special cleaner and ultrasound as a part of our free service (you only pay for shipping).

How to prevent tarnishing:
Tarnishing can be significantly reduced by covering the ring with a thin layer of rhodium. This will help the ring retain its shine for longer, and rhodium also increases its durability.
